UPA government has to go (Narmada stoppage)

The recent news about a central government prostrating in front of Medha Patkar by initially giving an order to stop raising height of Narmada dam is not just objectionable but a severe slap in the face of lakhs of people in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. It seems like politics is being played as none of the 3 states which benefit due to Narmada dam are part of the Congress regime.

In addition, I am a big fan of Aamir Khan films but once he decided to side with Medha Patkar, he has lost my support for any of his films however important they might be or whatever good message it might contain. I am sure Amdavadis will not allow his films to be screened either and for good reason. The problem is that by supporting Medha and Arundhati (2 of the most useless citizens of India who care more about them then about lakhs of people who benefit by this dam), he has ignored the wishes of lakhs of people who suffer due to unavailability of water, electricity etc which is going to be a result of incresing the height of this dam. Look, I am all for rehabilitation of people affected. certainly they deserve to get a land, which is going to be drowned and states should be pushed or central govt. needs to step in to get it done, but the height of the dam should be raised.

Maybe Medha, Aamir, Arundhati (sic!) should come and visit parched lands of Saurashtra, Kutch, Rajashthan and see how people suffer without water, how long they have suffered. I come from Saurashtra and I have seen droughts, people suffering, animals dying, crops getting destroyed due to lack of rains and water and all these bunch of idiots like Medha are involved in making them suffer more.

BTW, Medha's fast unto death is nothing but a gimmick. She still has nimbu paani, which has enough ingredients for you to stay on the fast for a long time. if she is serious, she should stop having anything. Then I will go and tell her that the suffering she is going throug is the same that is faced by people and farmers in the 3 states that benefit from raising the height of the Narmada.

UPA govt, by becoming party to this NBA leader has become a partner in crime against the very people it is supposed to protect and provide them with all amenities to do their work in the fields and generation of electricity so that industrial production can be carried out. They are playing dirty politics. Here are some of the dirty politics being played by Sonia and Mannu (Manmohan, the puppet of Sonia).

1/ Volcker (Nattu had to be forced out after an outcry by people in India)
2/ Jharkhan, Goa and Bihar fiasco
3/ Varanasi, Jama masjid, Delhi, srinagar etc
4/ Narmada
5/ Kicking other poeple out for holding position of profit and then declaring Sonia a martyr when she too had to resign for having broken the same law

This govt. is bound to destroy India and deserves to go along with the cartoons of CPI.

Abhinav takes his first wicket

Last weekend, more precisely on Sunday October 14th, Abhinav took his first wicket ever.  He got some boy out leg before wicket.  I have heard the story about a million times about how he ran up real fast and how the batsman try to pull his ball and how the ball hit his back leg and the coach declared him out. It was pure joy and innocence on the face of Abhinav that I saw, something I wish I still retained.  Sometimes, I feel this is what sports are all about or rather should be.  His tiny 6 year old friends told him that they will inform everyone in their school bus that Abhinav took his 1st wicket.  I know many say that you should teach your kids to win at any cost, to make them winners.  I tend to disagree. I have always believed that means to an end are more important than the end itself.  I try to inculcate the same in Abhinav.  Play the sport the right way and respect all the players even when they may not be as good at the sport as yo...

Abhinav takes his first wicket in a match/Tooth Fairy finally comes

Last time Abhinav took a wicket was in the practice nets.  Last weekend was his match and he succeeded in getting a wicket in a real match.  He was super excited and so was I.  As a father, there is never a better moment than seeing your son do well in a sport or any activity he participates in.  More than the wicket, the joy on his face was priceless and I will probably cherish it till I die. Other interesting thing that happened in the past 2 weeks was Abhinav losing his his first tooth. ..And then came all kinds of questions on why the tooth had to come out.  What are milk teeth? What happens when the permanent ones fall off?  and on and on and on.... For now, we were able to satisfy his curiosity but his next tooth is also on its way.  Fun times indeed.

How I am surviving this COVID-19 pandemic

It's been more than a year in India since this pandemic began.  The 1st lockdown seemed like a breeze.  The grocery shops were open through the day and after the initial few days of hiccups in getting essential goods like milk, biscuits etc, it was quite streamlined.  In fact, the 1.5-2 months of lockdown afforded families to spend quality time with each other.  Yes, work was there and in fact, work was busier than usual but we also could wake up a little late, save a lot of time that was spent commuting and we had more time than usual as we didn't have to take long lunches or waste time in useless meetings.  Nights were spent playing board games or cards or watching movies.  It was as if outside world had nothing great to offer and we had made a small world in our house.  Weekends were spent playing multiplayer games over Whatsapp.   I had developed a routine that I really liked.  I was able to maintain a time when I would do my w...
