UPA government has to go (Narmada stoppage)

The recent news about a central government prostrating in front of Medha Patkar by initially giving an order to stop raising height of Narmada dam is not just objectionable but a severe slap in the face of lakhs of people in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. It seems like politics is being played as none of the 3 states which benefit due to Narmada dam are part of the Congress regime.

In addition, I am a big fan of Aamir Khan films but once he decided to side with Medha Patkar, he has lost my support for any of his films however important they might be or whatever good message it might contain. I am sure Amdavadis will not allow his films to be screened either and for good reason. The problem is that by supporting Medha and Arundhati (2 of the most useless citizens of India who care more about them then about lakhs of people who benefit by this dam), he has ignored the wishes of lakhs of people who suffer due to unavailability of water, electricity etc which is going to be a result of incresing the height of this dam. Look, I am all for rehabilitation of people affected. certainly they deserve to get a land, which is going to be drowned and states should be pushed or central govt. needs to step in to get it done, but the height of the dam should be raised.

Maybe Medha, Aamir, Arundhati (sic!) should come and visit parched lands of Saurashtra, Kutch, Rajashthan and see how people suffer without water, how long they have suffered. I come from Saurashtra and I have seen droughts, people suffering, animals dying, crops getting destroyed due to lack of rains and water and all these bunch of idiots like Medha are involved in making them suffer more.

BTW, Medha's fast unto death is nothing but a gimmick. She still has nimbu paani, which has enough ingredients for you to stay on the fast for a long time. if she is serious, she should stop having anything. Then I will go and tell her that the suffering she is going throug is the same that is faced by people and farmers in the 3 states that benefit from raising the height of the Narmada.

UPA govt, by becoming party to this NBA leader has become a partner in crime against the very people it is supposed to protect and provide them with all amenities to do their work in the fields and generation of electricity so that industrial production can be carried out. They are playing dirty politics. Here are some of the dirty politics being played by Sonia and Mannu (Manmohan, the puppet of Sonia).

1/ Volcker (Nattu had to be forced out after an outcry by people in India)
2/ Jharkhan, Goa and Bihar fiasco
3/ Varanasi, Jama masjid, Delhi, srinagar etc
4/ Narmada
5/ Kicking other poeple out for holding position of profit and then declaring Sonia a martyr when she too had to resign for having broken the same law

This govt. is bound to destroy India and deserves to go along with the cartoons of CPI.

English Vinglish - My Review

This movie looked very promising from the promos.  It seemed like this movie would be an uplifting one and after watching the movie, I can safely say that it was. This is a story about a woman, a housewife, a mother (Sridevi) who is constantly chided by her husband and her daughter for not being able to speak English.  She felt as if she is unable to please her close ones with what she does.  She runs a small catering business from home. One day, she gets a call from her sister in the US to visit her as she needed Sridevi's help for her daughter's marriage.  Sridevi would have to go alone to a foreign land (her close ones would be coming late). She is dreading her visit to US alone since she does not know English. Once in the US, she is not able to communicate and gets a bit disheartened by it.  Once while visiting a place in New York, she saw an advertisement on a bus about learning English in 4 weeks.  She quietly decides to join these classes wi...

India Vs USA

I have been meaning to write on this topic for a while. Ever since I arrived to USA for my undergraduate studies, I have heard arguments between Indians born in the US about what is bad about India and Indians living in India who find bad things, or things they can laugh about and point to say that people are the same everywhere. Having been in the US and India almost an equal amount, my thinking is a bit different on this. I am more indian as far as thinking is concerned i.e. more social, less win at all costs etc. type of thinking. So, my thinking follows the perspective of those Indians living in India. My brother(s) waste no time in telling me how this or that is not right in the USA. Admittedly, that is true. You can always find things that are not good in the US. However, one thing we Indians should keep in mind is that there are a lot of things in India we need to fix first. For example, when we are in India, we keep our house clean but when we are out, we throw garbage o...

Thoughts on perception amongst people on Narendra Modi government

I am going to specifically direct this blog post to Narendra Modi & Amit Shah.  Being a huge fan of both, I would like to point out a sense of disillusionment creeping in in the Aam janta.  There are various perceptions amongst people, some true and some untrue.  Let me highlight a few of those: Narendra Modi is only moving in foreign lands, giving speeches to NRIs and ignoring the Indians in India Narendra Modi is saying that we have achieved almost zero corruption in government offices, that things in India are already awesome in the first 18 months etc Congress is going to town saying that this government is more for corporates than for the Aam Aadmi and I know of many BJP supporters who are actually believing it Narendra Modi promised to bring back black money but I don't see any results on the ground Frustration amongst BJP supporters that opposition propaganda is not being countered effectively No people have gone to jail for corruption which was the ma...
